Rincon – Hardy T. Gill, Sr., 84, passed away December 5, 2020 at Memorial Health.
The Blackshear native was a member of Life Springs Worship Center. He served in the U.S. Army and retired from Great Dane Trailers in 1991. He was a skilled painter and carpenter. He enjoyed gardening, fishing, and spent time restoring antiques. He was always busy.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Hardy Robert Gill and Vestal Kirkland Gill; sister, Martha Jean Scott.
Survivors include his wife, Alma Driggers Gill; children, Linda Jeffers, Pamela Nethercutt, and Tim Gill; 4 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; sisters, Rosa Davis and Betty Riggins; brothers, Charles Benton, Patrick "Tiny" Benton, and Ted Benton; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, December 10, 2020 at the funeral home, 2460 Hwy. 21 S., Rincon, GA 31326. Mr. Gill can also be viewed on Friday at the funeral home from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Graveside funeral services will be 2 p.m. Friday, December 11, 2020 at Effingham Memorial Gardens, 880 Hwy. 119 S., Springfield, GA 31329.
The family requests that everyone in attendance wear masks.
