Obituary for Harold Clifton Gracen Jr. ("Skeeter")
June 19, 1944 – August 6, 2025
Harold Clifton Gracen Jr., lovingly known to all as "Skeeter," passed away peacefully on August 6, 2025, at the age of 81, surrounded by the love of his family. He was born and raised in Pooler, Georgia. Skeeter lived a full and meaningful life defined by hard work, deep family roots, and a love for the outdoors.
Born on June 19, 1944, Skeeter was the son of the late Harold C. Gracen Sr. ("Scratch") and Elsie Gracen. He was also preceded in death by his beloved wife, Jacque Gracen, and grandson, Cliff Gracen IV.
Skeeter was a proud graduate of Brewton-Parker College and Georgia Southern College. He dedicated over 40 years of service to Savannah Electric, later Georgia Power, where he was known for his reliability, craftsmanship, and dedication.
A true outdoorsman at heart, Skeeter found joy in nature—fishing, hunting, and farming were among his favorite pastimes. He had a remarkable talent for woodworking and could build just about anything. Whether it was a hand-crafted piece of furniture or a repair needed around the house, Skeeter's hands and heart were always at work.
Skeeter's legacy lives on through his children: Brian Gracen (Michelle), Cliff Gracen (Wendy), Scott Robider, and Brooks Robider (Jennifer). He was a proud grandfather to Maddison Gracen, Brian Gracen, Jr. (Bailey), Peyton Kerley (John), Morgan Sapp (Joshua), Brittney Gracen, Jack Robider, Harry Robider, Abby Robider, and Will Robider. His legacy extends even further to his 10 great-grandchildren, each of whom brought him great joy and pride.
He will be remembered for his quiet strength, wisdom, sense of humor, and the love he poured into his family. Skeeter leaves behind a legacy not just in the things he built with his hands, but in the lives he shaped with his heart.
Graveside funeral services will be 10 a.m. Saturday, August 9, 2025 at Guyton Cemetery.
Remembrances may be given to Sun Care Hospice (Sun Care Blessings), 804 Towne Park Drive, Ste. 200, Rincon, GA 31326.
