Harold Pierce Hester, Sr.

Mr. Harold Pierce Hester, Sr., 89, of Bloomingdale, GA, passed away on Saturday, March 21, 2026 at his home.

Harold will be missed by his children, Cheryl Hester Sanderlin (Billy) and Harold Hester, Jr; grandchildren, Courtney Sanderlin (fiancé – Garret Vance), Harold Hester III, and Jeffrey Lustig; several great-grandchildren; special friend and companion, Ira Abbott; brothers, Charles Kenneth Hester (Frances) and Alton Hester, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Harold was born in Madison, GA and has lived in Bloomingdale for 35 years. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Mae Bowen Hester; parents, James and Mildred Hester; siblings, Tommy Hester, Jack Hester, and Edna Hester Parker. He retired from the Department of Corrections and served his country in the United States Navy. He enjoyed camping, traveling, riding four-wheelers and his golf cart. He is remembered for being a loving husband, dad and grandpa.

The graveside funeral and burial will be on Saturday, March 28, 2026 at Gravel Hill Cemetery located on Highway 80 in Bloomingdale at 12 noon with Pastor Steve McCoy officiating.
