Port Wentworth-Mr. Harold Dean Holifield, Sr., passed away on Tuesday, May 6, 2014 at Hospice Savannah.

He was born in Taylorsville, Mississippi to the late Clarence & Julia Mae Holifield. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Louise Holifield, and a grandson, Jonathan Holifield. He retired from the United States Civil Service and served his country in the U.S. Air Force. He was a member of the Faulkville Baptist Church and loved to play golf.

Survivors include his children, Sheryl Hillis, Harold Dean Holifield, Jr., and Thomas Holifield; brothers, Daniel Ray Holifield, Sr., and Clarence Ray Holifield; step-brother, Bennie Paul Holifield; half-brother, Donald Holifield; ten grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.

Visitation: 6-8 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home.

Funeral: 10 a.m. on Monday at Faulkville Baptist Church located at 144 Zeigler Road. Burial will follow at Effingham Memorial Gardens.
