Harry Earl Scott, Sr., age 78, passed away early Thursday morning August 23 rd at his home in Meldrim, GA.
He was born January 28, 1940 in Savannah, GA to Raymond and Earline Scott. Harry spent a lifetime in service to the United States as a member of the Air Force, Army Reserves, and Army/Air Force Civil Service. Harry retired in August 1995 to spend time with his family, and doing what he loved. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, family time, and the Atlanta Braves. He was an avid story teller and rummy player who loved card tricks and jokes about tea. He was a member of Meldrim United Methodist Church. Harry was preceded in death by his parents, sister Latrelle Deal and brothers O'Neil, Alton, & Larry Scott.
He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years Juanita Scott, daughter Debi (Gary) Oglesby, sons Danny Scott, David (Heather) Scott, and Harry Jr "Duece" (Julie) Scott. He doted on grandchildren Garin and Trevor Jackson, along with Dalton, Dakota, and Harry III "Tripp" Scott. Great-granddaughter Reese Jackson was the most recent light of his life.
The visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home.
The sendoff will be at 10 a.m. on Monday in the chapel of the funeral home with burial to follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in Meldrim.
