Hayward F. "Andy" Shipes

Garden City – Hayward F. "Andy" Shipes, 58, passed away February 3, 2018 at Hospice Savannah.

The Effingham County native was employed at Peeples Industries for 40 years. He was an avid hunter, loved salt water fishing, was a tinkerer, builder, father, grandfather, a man who's legacy was his family.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Barbara Shipes; and brother, Lee Shipes.

Survivors include his wife, Vicky Shipes; children, Stacey (Stephen) Davis and Tonya (Amy) Page; grandchildren, Haleigh Dorch, Bryent Shipes, Anna Dorch, Kylee Anderson, Charles Dorch, Aden Davis, and Cabot Davis; brother, Eddy (Earlette) Shipes; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Tuesday followed by funeral services at 11 a.m. in the chapel.

Interment will follow in Rincon Cemetery.
