Rincon – Hazel Williams Gordon, 84, passed away peacefully Saturday, October 29, 2016 at her home in Effingham County.
The Alabama native was a member of First Baptist Church of Rincon. She was the owner/operator of "Gordon's Gulf" Service Station in Garden City during the 1960's and retired from the family business, Gordon's Paint & Body and Wrecker Service which is still currently in operation by her son. Upon retirement, she enjoyed visiting all 50 states while traveling in an RV with her husband. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gene U. Gordon and parents, Foster & Gertrude Williams.
Known as "GiGi" to her great grand kids, she enjoyed riding them on her power wheelchair and watching them run and play. Survivors include her daughter, Lynn G. Grimes of Rincon; son, Mark U. Gordon (Rhonda) of Richmond Hill; grandchildren, Whitney Wilson (James), Lynsey Clements (Travis), Kathlyn Gordon, and Elizabeth Gordon; great-grandchildren, Taylor Watkins, Coraline Wilson, Harlin Wilson, Roxanne Clements.
Visitation will be 10 a.m. Wednesday followed by a memorial service at 11 a.m. in the chapel.
