Obituary

Pooler-Mrs. Hazel Lillian Mixon Lumley Exley, 80, passed away on Sunday, July 6, 2014 at Memorial Health University Medical Center.
Mrs. Hazel was born on July 19, 1933 in Vidalia to the late George W. & Lilly Mixon. She was a member of the Port Wentworth United Methodist Church, the Amy Exley Sunday School Class, the U.M.W., and greatly loved and supported the Prayer Shawl ministry. She loved to travel, fish, and most of all, take care of the ones she loved. She never met a stranger, always willing to help anyone with open doors, open arms, and no one ever left hungry. She had formerly owned and operated a restaurant, was a CNA, and retired from Gulfstream.
Survivors include her husband, Charles Exley; children, Joanne Crabb Hughes, Vinson Lumley, Randall Lumley and Lillian, Larry Lumley and Donna, Danny Outlaw and Cindy; step-daughters, Valerie Brown and Wesley, and Amanda Arnold and Matthew; 12 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grand; brother, Edward Mixon; several nieces and nephews.
Visitation: 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home.
Funeral: 10 a.m. on Thursday at the Port Wentworth United Methodist Church located at 201 Turnberry Street. Entombment will follow at Hillcrest Abbey East Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be given to the Port Wentworth UMC, 201 Turnberry Street, Port Wentworth, GA 31407.
