Helen Raola Langford Smith Zeigler

Rincon -Helen Raola Langford Smith Zeigler, born on May 8, 1924, passed away peacefully at the Effingham Care Center on October 6, 2020. A native of Miami, Florida, Mrs. Zeigler was born in Arcadia, Florida and has been a resident of Effingham County since the 1980's. During her lifetime, she was a charter member of South Miami United Methodist Church where she was active in bible study and the women's circle. In Effingham, she was a long-time member of Jerusalem Lutheran Church and later a charter member of Bible Lutheran Church. She was an adoring wife, a devoted mother, and a loving grandmother. She was a true matriarch, in every sense of the word.

Mrs. Zeigler is preceded in death by her first husband, Berny Lee smith of Miami, Florida, her second husband Milton Zeigler of Rincon, Georgia, her sisters Maxine Harward & Catherine "Toots" Simmons all of Arcadia, Florida, her daughter, Suzanne Bagley of Keetchie, LA, her grandson, Marcus Zeigler of Colorado, and her great-grandson Wyatt Zeigler of Rincon.

She is survived in death by her two daughters, Mary Collins (Gene) and Lee Hughes, her two step-sons, David Zeigler (Connie) and James Zeigler, her grandchildren Tracy Rogers (Brenda), Jennifer Sipes (Jay), Dusty Zeigler (Elaina), Judith Lott (Brent), Amy Terry, Jamie Allen (Kevin), Amanda Rutland (Nathaniel), Brandi Zeigler, Alan Zeigler (Ashley), Adam Zeigler (Cary), twenty-seven great-grandchildren, and five great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral service will be 12 noon, Saturday, October 10, 2020 at Bible Lutheran Church with visitation an hour prior to service. CDC and social distancing guidelines will be observed.

Private graveside service to follow.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in honor of Ms. Zeigler to Bible Lutheran Church located at 812 Blue Jay Road, Rincon, GA 31326.
