Henry W. "Billy" Hanberry
Cyo – Henry W. "Billy" Hanberry, 85, passed away Thursday, January 11, 2017 peacefully in his sleep.
Born December 28, 1931 in Clyo, GA, Billy graduated from Clyo High School, was a U.S. Air Force veteran, and retired from Union Camp after 39 years. He was an active member of Wingard Memorial Lutheran Church, was blessed with a beautiful solo voice and sang in the church choir and for friends and family weddings. He enjoyed playing baseball and was a loyal Atlanta Braves fan, loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman. During his golden years, fishing for Blue Gill was his favorite pastime.
He greatly loved and was very proud of his family whom he was affectionately known as "PeePa". He loved spending time at his camp entertaining family and friends with his specialty of Barbeque chicken. He enjoyed and took great pride in his manicured lawn.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry T. and Lottie Bell Hanberry; sister, N. June Jeffers (Gene); brothers, R. Neil Hanberry and Jack E. Fultz (Charlotte).
Survivors include his wife, Lee Ellen Tebeau Hanberry; daughters, Cheryl H. Dickey (Kelly) of Springfield, Kay H. Smith (Joey) of Marlow, and Robbie H. Partain (Eddie) of Rincon; grandchildren, Will Smith (Jennifer), Jed Smith (Ashton), Brandi Zeigler, Adam Zeigler (Cary), Miranda Rex (Jeremy), Allie Partain, and Troy Partain; great-grandchildren, Zachary Smith, Logan Youmans, Ayden Smith, Cain Smith, John Zeigler, Sarah Zeigler, Evans Roddenberry, Andrew Rex, and Clay Rex; brother, Donald E. Hanberry (Jan) of Snellville, GA; sisters-in-law, Jo L. Tebeau of Bluffton, SC and Pam McBride of Cummings, GA; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, January 13, 2017 at the funeral home.
Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Saturday, January 14, 2017 at Wingard Memorial Lutheran Church.
Interment will follow in Cedar Grove Cemetery.
