Mr. Henry R. "Hank" Bachmann, age 65, of Port Wentworth, passed away January 21, 2017. Hank served in the US Army in Vietnam, and he was a member of the American Legion in Pooler. He worked for over 25 years with Georgia Port Authority, and he was a member of Fire Department and Lion's Club in Port Wentworth. He was also a member of First Baptist Church of Richmond Hill. Hank is survived by his wife of over 44 years, Blanch Bachmann, of Port Wentworth; daughters, Michelle B. Roberts, of Dallas, Jennifer (Ray) Fowler, of Rincon; son, Henry R. "Robbie" Bachmann, of Port Wentworth; grandchildren, Kirsten Roberts, Zachary Roberts, Austin Roberts, Brittany Jackson, Brooke Fowler, Haley Fowler; sister, JoAnne (Jim) Sterling; many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, January 25, 1:30 PM at Strickland Funeral Home - West Chatham Chapel. Pastor Scott Speer officiating. Interment with military honors will follow at Hillcrest Abbey West Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening, 6:00 - 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
