Mr. Henry Lamar "Red" Miller
Port Wentworth-Mr. Henry Lamar "Red" Miller, 74, died on Monday, May 5, 2008 at
Hospice Savannah.
Mr. Miller was born in Port Wentworth to the late Earl Lamar and Mary Agnes Godbee
Miller. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his son, Stephen Lamar
Miller and his brother, James Earl Miller. He was a member of the Port Wentworth
United Methodist Church where he attended the Amy Exley Bible Class and was a
member of the United Methodist Men. He retired from Kaiser and Kemira and served on
the Marine Rescue Squadron. He was a member of the Port Wentworth Lions Club, the
Clyo Hunting Club, a faithful member of the Cadillac Ranch and was president and a
member of the Buck Creek Hunting Club.
Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Julie Miller of Port Wentworth; three daughters
and sons-in-law, Pam & Wain Yarber of Savannah, Carol & Jason D'Cruz of Atlanta and
Holly & Chris Weiss of Rincon; grandchildren, Alex & Reed Yarber, Anna D'Cruz,
Madeline, Rebecca & Matthew Weiss; several nieces, one nephew and a number of
cousins.
The visitation for Mr. Miller will be from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, May 7, 2008 at the
funeral home.
The funeral to honor Mr. Miller's life will be at 10 a.m. on Thursday, May 8, 2008 at the
Port Wentworth United Methodist Church. Rev. Grable Page will officiate. Active
pallbearers will be Jack Deloach, Bobby Wynn, David Warren, Kenny Dumas, Randy
Hall, Mike Roddinberry, Lemuel Lancaster, Jimmy Coker and Corky Herbert. Honorary
Pallbearers will be members of the Amy Exley Bible Class. Burial will follow at Forest
Lawn Memory Gardens on Bonaventure Road in Savannah.
