Herbert H. Ambrose
Herbert Hoover Ambrose, born on April 26, 1929, died at the age of 81 on March 11, 2011 peacefully at his home in Rincon.
He was the son of Laurie and Carrie Mae Ambrose. He served in the U.S. Navy in the 1940's in England where he met, Joan E. Driver Ambrose. They were married on January 1, 1952.
They had three sons, Wayne H. (Terry) Ambrose; David J. (Harriet) Ambrose, and Barry L. (Amanda) Ambrose. He was an avid outdoorsman that enjoyed spending time with his nine grandchildren, Shelly Griffin (William), Tabitha Horton (Brian), Jeffery Ambrose, Jr (Staci), Justin Ambrose (Kristen), Wesley Ambrose (Danielle), April, Megan, Olivia and Carrie Mae. He has six great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be Sunday from 6-8 PM at the funeral home.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Monday in the chapel.
Interment will follow in Effingham Memorial Gardens.
