Herbert T. Bruner

Springfield- Herbert T. Bruner, 77, died Friday, March 16, 2012 at his residence.

The Candler County native and Effingham County resident of 55 years was a member of the First Baptist Church of Springfield. He was an avid outdoorsman that loved fishing, hunting and trapping. He was known to many as "The Gator Man".

He was preceded in death by his parents, Grover and Ora Lee Bruner; brothers, Hubert and Dean Bruner; and his grandson, Daniel Bruner.

Survivors include his devoted wife of 60 years, Hazel Bruner; his children, Bonnie Bruner, Wayne Bruner (Vicki), Debbie Bruner, and Bobby Bruner (Brenda); two sisters, Emogene Rushing and Mildred Bragg; two brothers, William and Clyde Bruner; 8 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation: 6-8 pm Saturday, March 17, 2012 in the funeral home.

Funeral: 3 pm Sunday, March 18, 2012 in the chapel.

Interment: Springfield Cemetery Annex
