Mr. Herman Lee Robbins, 92, of Bloomingdale, Georgia passed away on Friday, December 21 st after a long illness.
He was the son of the late Austin E. Robbins and Mae Dell Wise Robbins. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Marjorie Glover Robbins; a son, Ray Austin Robbins; a grandson, Robert Lee Robbins, Jr. as well as two sisters, Lou Forest and Leitha Granna, and a brother, Delano Austin Robbins. Mr. Robbins was a paratrooper in the Army during World War II, serving in the Phillipines. He later worked for American Can Company, Layne Atlantic Company and Rowe Well Drilling.
Mr. Robbins is survived by his children, Robert Robbins, Linda King (Jack), Wanda Houston (Fred) and Richard Robbins (DeeDee); 13 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews.
The visitation will be on Sunday, December 23 rd from 1 until 2 p.m. at the Thomas C. Strickland & Sons Funeral Home located at 901 W. Hwy. 80 in Pooler. The graveside funeral and burial will follow at 3 p.m. in the Greenwich Section of Bonaventure Cemetery.
