Pooler-Mr. Hezekiah Polk, 95, passed away on Monday, December 3, 2012 at his home surrounded by his family.
Mr. Polk was born in Milan, GA to the late Charlie J. & Rachel Missouri Pitts Polk. He was also preceded in death by his wife of 71 years, Martha Allene Brown Polk. He served his country in the U.S. Navy and was a member and deacon at the Holy Church of God since 1963. He was in the produce business over 60 years and was still active in the family business, Polk's Plus in Pooler.
Survivors include his children, Jerry (Diane) Polk and Becky (Ray) Bashlor; 7 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren; sister, Ruby Dean Polk Nichols.
The visitation will be at the Holy Church of God located at 707 Little Neck Road on Thursday from 4-7 p.m. with a celebration of his life to begin at 7 p.m.
The funeral will be at the Holy Church of God on Friday at 1 p.m. with the members of the Senior Men Statesmen Sunday School Class serving as Honorary Pallbearers. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
