Newington – Hilda Gray Lee, 98, passed away Wednesday, February 2, 2022 at Effingham Care Center.

The Screven County native was a member of Newington Baptist Church and had retired from Memorial Health. She loved fishing in the Savannah River and spending time with her family of whom she was proud. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie Frederick Lee, Jr.; and two sons, Charlie Frederick Lee, III and Derrel Evans Lee.

Survivors include daughters, Geri Lee Powell (Geoffrey), Jeanette Lee Petrea (Sonny), and Judy Lee Giles (Aulmon); 9 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation: 10 – 11 am Saturday, February 12, 2022 at Newington Baptist Church.

Funeral: 11 am Saturday, February 12, 2022 at Newington Baptist Church.

Interment: Newington Cemetery
