Obituary

Savannah-Mr. Homer Wesley "Fireball" Davis, Jr., 89, passed away on Wednesday, January 13, 2016 at his home.
"Fireball" was born in Millfield, OH to the late Homer Wesley Davis, Sr. & Stella Walton Davis. He lived in Columbus, OH before moving to Savannah in 1987. He retired from Local #423 Ohio International Labor Union. He was a member of New Vision Baptist Church,member of the American Legion #184 in Thunderbolt, GA, loved the outdoors, fishing, and sports. He served his country in the U.S. Army.
Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Norma Lanning Davis; children, Ricky Lee Davis (deceased), Jeanette (Paul) Stafford, and Scott (Cathy) Davis; 8 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; 8 sisters (5 surviving), and a number of nieces and nephews.
The visitation will be on Saturday from 12-2 p.m. followed by the funeral at 2 p.m. in the chapel of the Thomas C. Strickland & Sons Funeral Home located at 901 W. Hwy. 80 in Pooler. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
