Guyton-Mr. Howard Frye, Jr., 74, passed away on Tuesday, April 18, 2017 at his home.
He was born in New Martinsville, WV to the late Howard Frye, Sr. & Willa Frye and served his country in the U.S. Air Force. Sgt. Frye retired from the Savannah Police Department after 33 years of service, loved sports, NASCAR, and muscle cars.
Survivors include his wife, Cathy Frye; children and their spouses, Kim Sapp, Crystal & Jerrell Floyd, Trey & Jennifer Frye, and Jennifer & Gene Jones; 10 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren; ex-wife, Gail Frye; brother, Tim Frye; sisters-in-law, Bonnie, Jeannine, Barbara Ann, and Jackie; brother-in-law, Joey; several nieces and nephews and his beloved dog, Butch.
The visitation will be from 6-9 p.m. on Thursday, April 20, 2017 at the funeral home.
The funeral to honor Howard's life will be at 11 a.m. on Friday, April 21, 2017 in the chapel of the funeral home with Pastor Carl Ramey officiating. Members of the Savannah Police Department are asked to serve as Honorary Pallbearers. Burial will follow at 1 p.m. at the Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Glennville with military honors.
