Howard Glenn Reid Hall, Sr.

November 10, 1936 — March 11, 2026

Howard G. R. Hall, Sr., 89, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 11, 2026 at Sprenger Health Care of Port Royal, SC.

Howard was born in Allendale, SC. He was the youngest child of Medicus Gray Hall and Vera Wasdin Hall. He attended school in Rincon until moving to Sylvania, just prior to his senior year, where he graduated from Screven County High School in 1954. He began his career with Southern Bell shortly after graduation. He served in the US Navy from 1954 - 1959. When he left for Basic Training, he boarded a plane bound for Great Lakes, Michigan. He left the sunny south and landed in his first snow! Upon discharge, he returned to the Savannah area and his job at the phone company, retiring in 1996.

Howard was married to Linda Marie Kitchens of Savannah until her death in 2021. Together, they had four children~~ Bonnie, Christy (who only lived for 11 1/2 short months), Glenn, and Kelly. Howard enjoyed gatherings of family and friends and could often be found near an outdoor grill or stove.

Howard enjoyed hunting and fishing with family and friends. He and his three older brothers, along with a group of friends, led a number of hunting clubs in Chatham and Effingham counties over the years. Known as The Shrimp Man to many, he loved selling shrimp, but especially the friendships he gained from those interactions. Though he declined physically over the last year and was unable to be out and about, he was thrilled to be visited by the host of attentive friends and family who so faithfully visited, whether in the hospital or at home. As much as he loved life, we are confident in knowing that his absolute joy was achieved on Wednesday afternoon when he was welcomed into Heaven by his Savior, Jesus Christ. His great concern for all he knew is that they too would accept Jesus as their personal Savior and spend eternity with Him in Heaven.

He was a member of New Life Worship Center in Rincon, GA. He was an active member of CWA Local.

Howard is survived by his three children~~ Bonnie Pritcher (Jody), Glenn Hall (Shelley), and Kelly Horveath, his grandchildren~~ Whitney Figueroa, Gray Metz, Bailey Pritcher, Ashton Pritcher, Chancey Pritcher, Reid Hall, Adrian Hall, Amber Rippy, Ty Horveath, his great grandchildren~~ Haylie Pritcher, Hayden Hinely, Kaisyn Figueroa, Paisley Metz, Kathryn Figueroa, Sam Hall, Autumn Rippy, Marleigh Rippy, Ronnie Rippy, Kayla Rippy, Caenan Horveath, and his great-great-grandson~~ Waylen Burns.
