Newington – Hubert "H.L." Outler, 88, passed away Wednesday, July 23, 2014 at Ogeechee Area Hospice.
The Mt. Vernon native was a member of Elam-Egypt Baptist Church, retired from C.S.X. Railroad, and served in the U.S. Army. He was preceded in death by his parents, Leslie McDonald Outler and Addie Lee Garrett; and wife, Elise Joyce Outler.
Survivors include his children, Leslie Outler Kelly, Hugh (Laura) Outler; brother, Ralph Outler; sisters, Sara Terry and Joann Gilbert; 5 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday in the chapel.
Interment will follow in Elam-Egypt Baptist Church Cemetery.
