IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Hugh Mcintosh,
Jr.
May 8, 1934 – May 24, 2018
On the evening of May 24, 2018, Hugh McIntosh, Jr. quietly passed away at his home in Bloomingdale. Hugh was born in 1934 in his beloved bluegrass state of Kentucky. He was the eldest son of Hugh Cave McIntosh and Mattie Middleton McIntosh, all of proud Scottish decent. As a young boy he developed a fascination for the wisdom of his elders and became a true Renaissance man. He had a magical understanding of the elements, a passion for nature, and a love for the outdoors. Gardening and working with his hands came naturally to him and he exemplified perfection in his creations. Hugh was proud of his military service and his work ethic was unquestionable. He retired from Union Camp after 44 years of accident free service. It could never be said that he was lazy as he was seldom still. Hugh was proud of his family and in the way of his tradition, he sought to teach his sons the practical skills upon which to become self reliant men with pride and skills to always overcome obstacles and to live accomplished lives. He was not known to exhibit extreme emotion, but he was a rock of stability in challenging circumstances and would always put the needs of others first. Hugh leaves behind a family that will never forget his gentle kindness and logical teachings - his sons Danny (Kimberley Fox) McIntosh and Joseph (Donna) McIntosh. Grandchildren, Tiffany (Travis) Shuff, Emily (David) Traxler, Joseph McIntosh, Ashley (Ron) Cross, Karleigh (Johnathan) Gerbsch, Andrea Aguilera, and Robert Aguilera. Great-grandchildren, Finn Shuff, Kate Cross, Juliet Cross, Bennett Cross, and Addison Gerbsch. Arrangements will be announced for the burial of his earthly remains. At this time we are sure he dwells with his ancestors and has probably already organized some sort of needed work endeavor.
