Baxley / formerly of Guyton - Hugh Dennie Wiggins, 72, passed away October 13, 2022 at Memorial Health.

The Vidalia native was a diesel mechanic for over 50 years having worked at Builder's Transport before briefly owning his own business.  He retired from Georgia Trucking and Repair.   He enjoyed fishing, watching the Atlanta Braves and Atlanta Falcons.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Reverend Joe Wiggins and Emma Lou Powell Wiggins; his first wife, Diane Nease Wiggins; brothers, Gary, Wayne, and Tommy Wiggins.

Survivors include his wife of 16 years, Hazel Dyches Wiggins; daughter, Tamia Criswell; son Michael Wiggins; step-daughter, Janet Lee; step-son, Robert Arnold; 7 grandchildren, Rebecca Criswell, Johnathan Wiggins, Danielle Noe (Cody), Lillian Wiggins, Nathaniel Criswell, Victoria Criswell, and Jacob Criswell; 4 great-grandchildren, Eloise Wiggins, Evelyn Wiggins, Viviana Wiggins, and Baby Noe due in 2023; brothers, Ronnie Wiggins (Martha), David Wiggins (Wanda), Tony Wiggins, Timmy Wiggins, and Jerry Wiggins; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Monday, October 17, 2022 at the funeral home followed by funeral services at 11 a.m. in the chapel.

Interment will follow in Bethesda United Methodist Church Cemetery.
