Savannah-Mr. Hylon Lance Hendrix, 69, passed away on Sunday, January 28, 2017 at Memorial Health University Medical Center.
Lance was born in Savannah to the late Jacob & Christine Hendrix. He was a member of South Newington Baptist Church, served his country in the U.S. Air Force, and had been employed with National Gypsum.
Survivors include his children, Belinda, Melissa, Sharon, and Christopher; 7 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; brother, Lavan Hendrix; sister, Diane Lewis, and his longtime special friend, Audrey Robinson.
The visitation was held from 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday, January 31, 2017 at the Thomas C. Strickland & Sons Funeral Home.
The funeral to honor Lance's life was held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, February 1, 2017 in the chapel of the funeral home. Rev. Steve McCoy officiated and Stacy Bell provided the music. Pallbearers were Tyler Phelps, Yancey Lewis, Wayne McCallister, Kelly Outler, Wayne Cox and Wyatt Allen. Burial followed at Hillcrest Abbey East Cemetery with military honors.
