Mrs. Inez Cochran Moore, 97, of Port Wentworth, Georgia, passed away on Monday, January 22, 2024.
Inez was born and raised in Tennile, Georgia and had lived in Port Wentworth for many years. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Rosa Johnson Turner and well as two husbands, Thomas Cochran and Charles Moore; step-son, Douglas Moore and daughter-in-law, Patty Moore. She had been employed by Lerner's in Savannah as well as with the Chatham County Health Department – Vital Statistics. She will be remembered for also being a great homemaker, she enjoyed cooking, gardening, sewing, and quilting. She will also be remembered for being a loving wife, mother, and grandmother.
Survivors include her daughter's, Marie McGinnis (John) and Lynn Davis (Mike); step-sons, Larry Moore (Renea) and Alan Moore (Jane); several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; sister, Elizabeth Walker (Donald) and several nieces and nephews.
The visitation will be on Saturday, January 27, 2024, from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. at the First Baptist Church of Port Wentworth located at 402 Pinehurst Place. The funeral to honor Inez's life will follow at 11 a.m. in the sanctuary of the church. The graveside funeral and burial will follow at 3 p.m. at Magnolia Cemetery located at 703 West 6th Street in Waynesboro, Georgia. Rev. Paul Mongin will officiate the service and the pallbearers were Mike Davis, Jay Walls, Erik Davis, Hal Davis, Troy Davis and Jon Terry.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the dedicated staff at the Oaks at Pooler for their exceptional level of care and compassion over the past four years. We witnessed firsthand the unwavering commitment of the team to provide not just medical support, but also emotional and compassionate care to our beloved mother and grandmother. We are truly thankful.
