Guyton-Mrs. Ira Nell West, 85, passed away on Monday, January 2, 2012 at St. Joseph's Hospital.
Mrs. West was born in Gaylesville, AL to the late Sam & Dora C. Nelson. She was also preceded in death by a son, Ronald H. West. She enjoyed gardening, cooking and her two dogs, Lucy & Freckles.
Survivors include her husband, John H. West; sons, Michael West, Steven (Susan) West, Jeffrey West and Mark West; grandchildren, Amanda, Jessica, Logan, Dwayne, Julia & Jacqueline; brother, Bill (Marti) Nelson and several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Visitation: 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, January 5, 2012 at the funeral home.
Funeral: 1:30 p.m. on Friday, January 6, 2012 in the chapel of the funeral home with burial to follow at Westside Memorial Gardens.
