Irma Belle Hammond

Pickerington, OH- Irma Belle Hammond, 86, passed away February 15, 2011.

Irma was born in Sylvania, Georgia, daughter of the late Thomas and Katie Usher. Also preceded in death by her husband, Cecil Hammond and brother, George Usher. Irma was a fun woman who had a great sense of humor. She was an animal lover, especially Chihuahuas. She enjoyed shopping, gardening, and was a wonderful cook. Irma retired from Lucent Technologies and was a member of the Telephone Pioneers Club.

She will be missed by her son and daughter –in-law, Thomas and Tena Hammond; grandchildren, Thomas, Tyler and Taylor Hammond; sister, Gaisy Hodges; sister-in-law, Rosemary Usher; and many other extended family members and dear friends.

Funeral services will be 1 pm Monday, February 21, 2011 at Schoedinger East Chapel, Columbus, OH with a 2-5 pm Sunday visitation.

Local funeral services will be 11 am Thursday, February 24, 2011 in the Thomas C. Strickland & Sons Funeral Home Effingham Chapel.

Burial will follow at Springfield Cemetery.
