Ms. Irma Ruth "Nina" Mitchell Alvarez

Savannah-Ms. Irma Ruth "Nina" Mitchell Alvarez, 67, died on Tuesday, April 8, 2008 at
St. Joseph's Hospital.

Born in Candler County, Ms. Alvarez had lived in Savannah for a number of years and
was a member of Chevis Oaks Baptist Church. She enjoyed fishing, the outdoors,
mowing the grass and playing cards. She was preceded in death by her parents, Elwood
& Bessie Mitchell and a sister, Elouise Mitchell.

Survivors include her children, Theresa Alvarez, Juan D. Alvarez, Thomas J. Alvarez,
Daniel D. Alvarez, Angela A. Garris and Daryl E. Alvarez, all of North Carolina; twenty
grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; sisters, Shirley Allen of Savannah, Cindy Maner
of Guyton, Mary Terrell of Savannah and Ailene Wetherington of Savannah; brothers,
Howard Mitchell of Richmond Hill, Elvin Mitchell of Savannah, Marvin Mitchell of
Rincon, Pratt Mitchell of Savannah and Danny Mitchell of Richmond Hill and a number
of nieces and nephews.

Visitation: 5-8 p.m. on Thursday in the chapel of the funeral home.

Funeral: 11 a.m. on Friday in the chapel of the funeral home with burial to follow at
Hillcrest Abbey West Cemetery on Dean Forest Road.
