Jack Alton Beckworth, 80, of Meldrim, Georgia, passed away peacefully on May 20, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.Jack was born on November 23, 1945, in Bulloch County, Georgia. He was preceded in death by his parents, Daniel Noone Beckworth and Lucy Mae Beckworth; his grandson, Justin Caleb; his brothers, Danny, Lewis, Bill, Leaion, Bobby, and Terrell Beckworth; and his sisters, Janie, Elizabeth, and Nancy Beckworth.Jack proudly served his country in the Army for three years and later in the National Guard for two years. He spent 27 years building a fulfilling career as a mechanic with Commercial Carrier Corporation. Beyond his professional life, he was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. Those who knew Jack will remember his deep love for family, his enjoyment of hunting and fishing, and his willingness to help anyone in need.He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Carol Beckworth; his children, Steven (Gina) Beckworth, Brian (Ebony) Beckworth, Jason Beckworth, and Tony Beckworth; his special niece, Cyndi Hawkins; his brother, Ronald (Rachel) Beckworth; his sisters, Martha (Ronnie) Wiggins and Brenda (Kevin) Sapp; his granddaughters, Ashley, Marissa, Amanda, and Jade; his grandsons, Craig, Cody, Brandon, Daniel, Jordan, Christopher, Brooks, and Blake; twenty-one great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. The visitation will be on Tuesday, May 26, 2026 from 11 a.m. until 12 noon at the funeral home. The funeral service to honor Jack's life will follow at 12:00 p.m. in the chapel of the Thomas C. Strickland & Sons Funeral Home, located at 901 US Highway 80, Pooler, Georgia 31322. Friends and family are invited to attend and celebrate Jack’s life. There will be an interment burial ceremony at Northside Cemetery in Pembroke to follow. May his memory live on through the love of his family and all who had the privilege of knowing him. Thomas C.
