Obituary

Rincon – Jack Carlton Cook, Jr., 82, passed away February 27, 2025 at his residence after a long illness.

The Virginia native was a U.S. Army veteran having served in Vietnam and the U.S. Army Reserves attaining the rank of Major.  He retired from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers after 35 years and was a member of the VMI Keydet Club.  He was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church and loved playing golf.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jack Carlton Cook, Sr. and Lelia Legnaioli Cook; and his son, Michael D. Cook.

Survivors include his daughter, Penny Christol (Steve); son, Patrick Bradley Cook; grandchildren, Dylan Zimdahl (Sarah), Kevin Zimdahl, Steven Tyler Christol (Jasmine), and Morgan Leigh Cook; great-grandchildren, Hunter Luke Christol, Willow Jade Christol, and Joseph Douglas Christol.

Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, March 3, 2025 at the funeral home with a Rosary Service beginning at 6:30 p.m.

Funeral mass will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 4, 2025 at St. Boniface Catholic Church.  Pallbearers will be Steve Christol, Dylan Zimdahl, Kevin Zimdahl, Justin Mixon, Nich Strickland, and Jesse Barnes.

Entombment will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 4, 2025 at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
