June 14, 1937 – December 2, 2022
Springfield – Jack Dean Snyder, Sr., 85 passed away December 2, 2022 at his residence.
The Ohio native served in the U.S. Air Force and was a Vietnam Combat Veteran and retired from the U.S. Army with 20 years of active service. He then retired from Gulfstream and was a member of First Baptist Church of Springfield where he had served as a music minister. He and his wife Linda were founding members of Emmanuel Baptist Church of Springfield and of Cornerstone Church of Springfield. They were diligent supporters of United Way in Rincon. Linda and he established and operated "Our Daily Bread" food pantry from their home Springfield where they shared the Gospel of Jesus Christ to all and distributed tons of food to the less fortunate citizens from across Effingham County.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Linda Deloach Snyder; daughter, Susan Leigh Snyder; and brother, David Browne.
Survivors include his sons, Jack D. Snyder, Jr., Chris L. Snyder, Lt. Col. Ret. Daniel H. Snyder (Leslie); brother-in-law, Marty Deloach (Diane); grandchildren, Brandi Selling, Megan Payton, and Noah Snyder; great-grandchild, Memphis Selling; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. Monday, December 5, 2022 at the funeral home.
Graveside services will follow at 2:30 p.m. Monday, December 5, 2022 at Cedar Grove Cemetery.
