Jack Walter Tuten, Jr.
Guyton - Jack Walter Tuten, Jr passed away October 27, 2018
at Landmark Hospital after injuries sustained in a vehicle
accident on October 2, 2018. He was 70 years old.
Born in Guyton, Georgia, he was a member of Guyton Christian
Church and a 1965 graduate of Effingham County High
School. He was retired from CSX railroad after 35 years.
He was a member of the Guyton Masonic Lodge #428 F. & A.M. and the
American Legion Post 209.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Eunice Dickey
Tuten.
Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Joyce Ann
Shearouse Tuten and their two daughters, Amy & Slade
Helmly and Vicki T. Renfroe; his father, J. Walter Tuten,
Sr.; his two sisters, Wanda T. Lee and Janice & Joe
Oliver; grandchildren, Annabeth & Saralyn Helmly, Josi &
Ryan Renfroe and Carter Renfroe.
Visitation will be 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Monday at Guyton Christian Church. Mr. Tuten will lie in state from 10 a.m.
Interment will follow in Guyton Cemetery with a Masonic service.
