Pooler - Jacob Daniel Lotz, 22, formerly of St. Louis, MO and St. Charles, IA, died at 2:16 p.m. Saturday, December 29, 2007 at Hannibal Regional Hospital in Hannibal, MO.
Born January 26, 1985 in Des Moines, IA, the son of David Eugene and Diana Lynn Rhoades Lotz. Jacob attended schools in Martensdale, IA, Colorado Springs, CO, and Oakville, MO, where he graduated high school. He was currently working in the 2nd Chance program at Goodwill Industries in Savannah. He was a member of Savannah Christian Church in Savannah.
Survivors include his parents; two brothers, Joshua and Shayna Lotz and Jowl Lotz both of Pooler, GA; grandparents, Floyd and Thelma Rhoades of Bella Vista, AR; step-grandmother, Marjorie Lotz of Port Charlotte, FL; aunts, and uncles, Cheryl Lotz of Burlington, IA, Randy and Karen (Rhoades) Steen of Bentonville, AR, Michael Rhoades of Aurora, IL, Andrew and Pam (Rhoades) Chenoweth of Ottumwa, IA, Steven and Susan Rhoades of Eureka, MO; and 12 cousins. Preceding him in death were his grandparents, Gilbert and Agnes Lotz and one aunt, Cathy (DeMartelli) Rhoades.
Visitation will be 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday, January 4 at the funeral home.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Saturday, January 5 at Savannah Christian Church with College and Singles Pastor David Allgire officiating.
Internment will follow in Effingham Memorial Gardens in Springfield, GA.
In lieu of flowers, memorials have been established for the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation and Savannah Christian Church.
