Jacob Franklin Moore
Guyton – Jacob Franklin Moore, 89, (Boneyard) passed away on Wednesday, January 17, 2018 of natural causes at his residence.
The Effingham County native was born in Tusculum, GA to Addie and Jess Moore. He was retired from Union Camp Paper Corporation as a welder after more than 40 years of employment, and he was also a part-time farmer. He served as President of the McClaws Hunting Club for over 36 years. He enjoyed hunting and fishing with his family and friends. He was a member of Tusculum Christian Church, but recently attended Guyton United Methodist Church. He loved his family, believed in working hard, and was of honest and upright character.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Dorothy Williams Moore; brother, J.I. Moore; sister, Margaret Moore Sharpe; and his parents.
Survivors include his wife, Diane B. Moore; his daughters, Sandra Kelly of Guyton, Myra Weaver (Ronald) of Guyton, and Linda Deloach (Bert) of Stilson; sons, J. Michael Moore (Sandra) of Springfield, Dennis Moore (Angie) of Guyton, and G. Marvin Moore (Bonnie) of Guyton; step-daughters, Denise Bassent (Michael) and Debra Horne; 18 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation will be 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday at Strickland Funeral Home, Effingham Chapel.
Funeral services will be 2:30 p.m. Friday at Strickland Funeral Home, Effingham Chapel.
Interment will follow in Guyton Cemetery.
