Mr. James D. "Buddy" West, Sr., 73, of Rincon, formerly of Pooler, passed away on Monday, August 29, 2016 at Select Medical Care.
Buddy was born in Savannah to the late Grady & Janie Mae West. He served his country in the U.S. Navy and Army, and retired from Gulfstream as an FAA Inspector. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He enjoyed fishing, watching NASCAR, and was a Dale Earnhardt fan.
Survivors include his wife, Jean R. West; children and their spouses, James D. West, Jr. & Julie, Katina W. Phillips & Maurice, and Randall J. West & Christina; grandchildren, Kelsie Towson, Caden West, Robert Anderson, Jessica Garretto, Brandon Smith, Jordan Ashburn, Madison Phillips, Hunter West, Cody West, and Jade West; great-grandchildren, Sophia Lynn Pagano-Garretto, Grace Lynn Jean Garretto, Grady Alan Ashburn, and Lyllo Belle Ashburn; sister, Barbara Waters; brother, William West; half-brothers, Gene West, and Danny Reynolds (deceased), as well as several nieces and nephews.
Visitation: 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Funeral: 11 a.m. Thursday in the chapel of the funeral home with burial to follow at Hillcrest Abbey West Cemetery.
