Mr. James C. Cook, 88, passed away Sunday, July 24, 2022. He was born in Candler County, but lived most of his life in Chatham County.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He retired from Union Camp Corporation after 44 years. He was a long-time member of the Bloomingdale First Baptist Church.
Surviving is his wife of 65 years, Nancey Tucker Cook; a daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Russell Bright of Springfield; grandchildren, Neal Bright (Kellye), Allison Worley (Bryant), and Rachel Bright (Justin Roddenberry, fiancé); great-grandchildren, Ella and Addi Bright, and one great-granddaughter on the way.
The visitation will be on Wednesday, July 27, 2022 from 10 until 11 a.m. at the Thomas C. Strickland & Sons Funeral Home with the funeral to follow in the chapel of the funeral home at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at Lake Cemetery near Metter.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Bloomingdale First Baptist Church, P.O. Box 279, Bloomingdale, GA 31302.
