James Benjamin Cummings,79, died January 1, 2012 at home in Pembroke, Ga . The Lord knew it was time for his welcoming and for his soul to be at peace.

He was born in Kinston, NC and had lived most of his life in Savannah, GA. He
was a US Navy Korean War Veteran with a kind and loving soul to all. He is preceded in death by his wife, Greta Joy Cummings, step-son, Jerome T. Rom and step-daughter, Cynthia Joy Fuertes-Andino. He is survived by his only brother, Lloyd "Chubby" F. Cummings, Jr.; daughter, Angel Curry; his step-children, Evelyn, Debbie, Connie, Lorrie, and their spouses. He has sixteen grandchildren, twenty-five great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.

Visitation: 10 a.m. until 12 noon on Thursday in the chapel of the funeral home.

Funeral: 12 noon on Thursday in the chapel of the funeral home.

Graveside Funeral: 2 p.m. on Thursday at Beaufort National Cemetery located at 1601 Boundary Street, Beaufort, SC.
