Obituary

Marlow-Mr. James Olin Dasher, 88, passed away on Sunday, October 5, 2014.
Mr. James was born in Marlow to the late Doyle & Maude Conaway Dasher. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Lorene T. Dasher; a great-grandson, Landry Oliver, and two sisters, Leona "Chubby" Helmey and Sarah Hammaker. He was a Scout Master with the Boy Scouts – Silver Beaver, for many years. He was a lifetime member of Zion Lutheran Church, and was a member of the church choir. He was the chairman of the Effingham County Sunday School Convention for many years, and enjoyed camping and fishing. He was the owner of Dasher Industrial Supply Company.
Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Ray & Kathy Dasher; daughter, Terry Sexton; grandchildren, Michael, David, Nichole, Vickie, Monica, and Tracy; 14 great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters-in-law, Lowell & Naomi Dasher, and Clayton & Emma Lee Dasher, as well as a number of nieces and nephews.
The visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
The funeral will be at 5 p.m. Wednesday at Zion Lutheran Church. Mr. James will lie in state from 4-5 at the church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that remembrances be made to Zion Lutheran Church, 121 Noel C. Conaway Road, Guyton, GA 31312.
