Mr. James E. Douglas, 88, of Pooler, died on Saturday, February 9, 2008 at Westview
Nursing Home.
Mr. Douglas was born in Emanuel County and had lived in Pooler for over 50 years. He
was preceded in death by his wife, Lizzie Hall Douglas and he was a member of Rothwell
Baptist Church. Mr. Douglas retired from Certainteed Roofing Company and he enjoyed
woodworking.
Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Linda & Bill LaCoste of Braselton; son
and daughter-in-law, Edwin & Nathalie Douglas of Guyton; grandchildren, Justin &
Jayme Douglas, Brenton & Katherine Wallace, Kristi & Jerry Romero, Jennie & Chris
Shea, Jamie & Russ Bohlinger, Hannah Douglas and Nathan Seal; great-grandchildren,
Rebecca and Allie Shea, Chase Douglas and George Sanders; sisters, Myrtice Davis of
Pooler and Dee Worley of Augusta and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation: 4-6 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home.
Funeral: 3 p.m. on Monday at Mount Shady Baptist Church in Emanuel County with
burial to follow in the Church cemetery. Mr. Douglas will lie in state from 1-3 p.m. at the
Church.
