James L. Dowd, Jr.
Rincon – James L. Dowd, Jr., 61, passed away Sunday, July 6, 2014 at Hospice Savannah.
The Chatham County native was employed with Gulfstream and was a member of Guyton Masonic Lodge #428 F. & A.M.. He was preceded in death by his parents, James L. Dowd, Sr. and Mildred Smith; and wife, Cynthia Barras Dowd.
Survivors include his wife, Crystal Sasser Dowd; children, Jamison (Gillian) Dowd and Carole-Ann (Jonathan S.) Hughes; granddaughter, Arya Dowd; sisters, Mary Grist and Ruby Bell; several nieces and nephews; and his companion, Bella.
Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Funeral services will be 4 p.m. Wednesday in the chapel.
Interment will follow in Effingham Memorial Gardens.
