James Edward "Ed" Lockhart
Rincon – James Edward "Ed" Lockhart, 81, passed away Tuesday, November 26, 2013.
Born January 17,1932 in Swainsboro Georgia, Emanuel County to the late Mamie Edenfield Lockhart and Mitchell Duvall Lockhart. He graduated from high school in Brooklet, GA, served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict, retired from Southern Bell Telephone Company, and was an avid Goldwing Motorcycle rider. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Rincon and former member of Southside Baptist Church in Savannah.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Glyness Scarborough Lockhart.

Survivors include his wife of 7 years,Jean Ballentine Lockhart; brothers: Bill Lockhart (Thelma) and Gene Lockhart; children: Vicki Lockhart Sumner (Richard); James Ronald Lockhart (Susan); Teresa "Terri" Lockhart Burroughs (Tim); Step daughter Valeria Ballentine Maier (Tom); 7 grandchildren; and 9 great grandchildren.

Visitation will be 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home followed by funeral services at 11 a.m. in the chapel.

Interment will follow in Hillcrest West.
