Obituary
Pooler-Mr. James Mack Elder, 64, passed away on Wednesday, November 28, 2012 at Memorial Health University Medical Center.
Mr. Elder was born in Hornell, NY to the late Donald Mack Elder and Julia Knight Elder. He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Kathleen Nichols Elder. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and retired from Norfolk Southern Railroad after 43 years of service. He served his country in the U.S. Navy, enjoyed playing golf and helping his friends and neighbors.
Survivors include his wife, Cheryl Rhoades Elder of Pooler; daughters, Amy Elder of Altoona, PA and Major Holly Cribb (Major Michael Cribb) of El Paso, TX; grandson, James Cribb; step-sons, Chad Rhoades (Karen) of Altoona, PA and Michael Rhoades of Pittsburgh, PA; sister, Sally Soules (Bill) of Rochester, NY; brother, John Elder (Barb) of Horseheads, NY and several nieces and nephews.
The visitation will be from 2-3 p.m. Sunday at Trinity United Methodist Church with the funeral to follow at 3 p.m. The church is located at 320 Benton Drive in Pooler.
