Pooler-Mr. James W. Fleming, 73, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Saturday, May 23, 2015 at his home.
James was born in Marshfield, Wisconsin to the late J.B. & Halcyon Fleming. He was also preceded in death by a son, Jason John Fleming. He retired as vice-president of manufacturing with Road Rescue, and was a member of Savannah Christian Church. After retirement, he enjoyed rehabilitating foreclosed homes.
Survivors include his wife, Jean I. Fleming; children, Barbara Volbrecht (Andy) of Milwaukee, WI, Scott Fleming (Kristin) of Springfield, MO, and Jennifer Caughlin (Steve) of Denver, CO; nine grandchildren whom he adored; brothers, Neil Fleming of Marshville, WI, and Dr. Robert Fleming of Janesville, WI; sister, Jane Schreiner of Woodruff, WI; six nieces and nephews.
The memorial service to honor James' life will be at 6 p.m. on Thursday, May 28, 2015 in the chapel of the Thomas C. Strickland & Sons Funeral Home located at 901 W. Hwy. 80 in Pooler, GA.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, remembrances may be given to the West Chatham YMCA, 165 Issac G. LaRoche Drive, Pooler, GA 31322 to the memory of James W. Fleming. Donations may be given by calling the YMCA at 912-748-9622.
