Mr. James Solomon "Jim" Hemby, 76, of Bloomingdale, Georgia, passed away on Friday, April 7, 2023 at Magnolia Manor.

Jim was born in Savannah, Georgia  and lived in Garden City for a number of years.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Edwin Bolton Hemby and Gervaise Walker Hemby, as well as his sister, Janice Gail O'Kelly.  He was a former member of Chapel-In-The Garden Presbyterian Church and a current member of Zion Lutheran Church.  He retired as a truck driver after 50 plus years as an independent owner/operator.  He enjoyed listening to music, especially the Gaithers.

He is survived by his wife, Paula Hemby.

The graveside funeral and burial to honor Jim's life will be at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, April 12, 2023 at Zion Lutheran Church Cemetery located at 121 Noel C. Conaway Road, Guyton with Pastor Ben Mandrick officiating.
