Mr. James Nelson "Jimmy" Oetgen, 61, of Bloomingdale, passed away on Wednesday, January 31, 2018 at Memorial Health University Medical Center.
Jimmy was born in Savannah to the late Frank E. Oetgen, Sr. & Muriel Nelson Oetgen. He was a former employee of both Shearouse Lumber Company and Atlantic Towing on River Street. He was a member of Alpha United Methodist Church, was the owner/operator of Oetgen's Material Hauling and Oetgen's Horse Boarding. He enjoyed driving his dump truck, his tractor and collecting antiques. He also enjoyed working with his best buddy, Steve Hulette.
Survivors include his wife, Deborah A. Oetgen; children, Donny Lee Johnson and Brandy Ann (Jeff) Bennett; grandchildren, Ginger, Tara and Kimberly Roop, James Settles and Stone Bennett; brothers, Frank E. Oetgen, Jr. and Ernest Julian Oetgen; nieces, Julie Oetgen and Jessica Huber; nephews, Gene English and Whit Smith; two dogs (fur-babies), Biscuit Oetgen and Mutt-Mutt Oetgen, whom he loved very much.
Visitation: 6-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Funeral: 1 p.m. Saturday at Oetgen Ranch located at 664 Godley Road in Bloomingdale. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Abbey East Cemetery.
