Meldrim-Mr. James "Dudley" Long, Sr., 77, passed away on Wednesday, April 15, 2015 at Ogeechee Area Hospice.
He was born in Savannah to the late T.C. & Ruby Long. He was a member of Meldrim Baptist Church, the Savannah Baptist Builders, and the Georgia Baptist Disaster Relief Team. He was a former Disaster Relief Coordinator for the Savannah Baptist Association, and active with the World Changers. He retired from Sears.
Survivors include his wife, Donnie Brinson Long; children, Debbie Haney (Jeff), Dudley Long, Jr. (Cathy), Cliff Long (Phyllis), and Nancie Chiang; 13 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; brothers, Ronald Long (Shirley), and Bobby Long (Linda); sister, Joann West; several nieces and nephews.
Visitation: 5-7 p.m. Thursday (today) at the funeral home.
Funeral: 2 p.m. Friday in the chapel of the funeral home with burial to follow at Oak Hill Cemetery.
