Savannah - Mr. James Russell Maier , 41, died on Tuesday due to an accident.
Mr. Maier was born in Canton, Ohio and graduated from Westlake High School in Westlake, OH and was a graduate from Purdue University where he was in the Kappa Sigma Fraternity and president of VanSweringen Automotive Group. Mr. Maier was the co-owner of J.D. Byrider in Savannah and a member of Toast Masters and Alpharetta Presbyterian Church, Alpharetta, GA.
Survivors include his wife, Karine Maier of Savannah; daughters, Émeline and Chloé Maier; brothers, Gregory Maier of Savannah, and Paul Maier of Northville, MI; father, Russell Maier of Naples, FL; mother, Elizabeth Maier of Canton, OH; father and mother-in-law, Georges and Danielle Louise of Normandy France; sister-in-law, Nathalie Gelebart of Paris France and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation: 6-8 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.
Memorial Service: 1 p.m. on Saturday at Independent Presbyterian Church in Savannah.
In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be given to the Coastal Bank, c/o Karine Maier for the benefit of Émeline and Chloé Maier.
