A proud veteran of the United States Marine Corps, James E Marchant (Skeeter). passed away on December 16th, 2024, at the age of 75 in Rincon, Georgia, where he has resided since 1992.

James was born on January 27, 1949, in Lakeland, FL to the parents of Anna Irene Camm and Joe Brown Marchant. James had four siblings. Brothers- Jerry Marchant, Johnny Marchant, Kenny Marchant, Sister- Evelyn Marchant.

James enlisted in the United States Marine Corps in 1967, he served his country for, four years and completed two tours in the Vietnam War. After leaving the Marine Corps in 1970, James worked in the construction field for the remainder of his life.

James married his beloved wife, Margaret Ann Marchant (Hardwick) in 1969, together they had five children. James E Marchant is survived and missed by his wife of 55 years, Margaret Ann Marchant (Hardwick); four daughters, one son and their spouses. Melissa Ann Marchant (Steve Buckner); Deanna Irene Marchant (Dallas Hughes); James Edward Marchant Jr (Jennifer Marchant); Tracy Renee Marchant (Steve Gregory) and Late daughter Christy Lynn Marchant. Forever cherished and remembered by his fifteen grandchildren and six great grandchildren; sister-in-law Susie Hughey, brother-in-law Daniel Hardwick, loved by many nieces and nephews.

Those that know James (Skeeter) know him for his outgoing and humorous personality, his talent for telling jokes, his famous black cowboy hat and his love for his family and friends. He would want everyone to remember him for the way he was and not the way he left us.

Visitation will be 10:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Friday, December 20, 2024 at the funeral home followed by funeral services at 11 a.m. in the chapel.

Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Friday, December 20, 2024 at Beaufort National Cemetery.
