James Raleigh Moore, Jr., 48, of Ludowici, passed away on Saturday, December 16, 2017 at Memorial Health University Medical Center.
James was born in Savannah and was preceded in death by his mother, Jan Bothwell. He was a 1987 graduate of Effingham County High School, and served his country in the U.S. Navy for six years before being wounded during the Gulf War. He opened Moore's ATA Martial Arts Academy in Rincon in 2001, then opened Bluffton ATA Martial Arts in Bluffton.
Survivors include his wife, Rita Esther Moore; sons, Daniel C. Valdez, Gabriel A. Valdez, Josh Brooks, Jason Moore and Dalton Moore; father and step-mother, James R. Moore, Sr. & Judy; brother, Cody Shane Moore & fiance, Lindsey; sister, Megan Elizabeth Moore and fiance, Garrett; step-brother, Ben Bothwell; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and the ATA families.
The visitation will be on Thursday, December 21st from 11:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. at the funeral home followed by the funeral at 1:30 p.m. in the chapel of the funeral home. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
