Rincon- James W. Scott, 83, went to be with his Lord on Thursday, January 12, 2017 at St. Joseph's Hospital.
The Floral Park, NY native was a member of Rincon United Methodist Church and had retired from International Paper. He was a graduate of Hofstra University in Hempstead, NY. He had been a member of the Springfield Masonic Lodge #441 F & AM, where he received his 50 year pin, member of the Effingham County Chamber of Commerce, past member of the Rincon Rotary Club, and longstanding member of the Rincon Garden Club.
He is survived by his wife, Susan K. Scott; children, Lorraine Narus (Andrew), Peter Scott (Sharon), Nancy Gerlach (Chris), and Scott Sells (Nancy); sisters, Louise Gorman and Joanne Scott; grandchildren, Christa Jeanes, Jessica Narus, Keith Scott, Kyle Scott, Ashley Gerlach, Adam Gerlach, Aaron Gerlach, Jonathan Sells, and David Sells; a great-granddaughter, Autumn Rose; and a nephew, Mark Gorman.
Visitation: 2-3 pm Wednesday, January 18, 2017 in the funeral home.
Funeral: 3 pm Wednesday, January 18, 2017 in the funeral home chapel.
Interment: Private
